Look at the whole object
Check the artist, title, format and edition when comparing records. A sleeve colour or a listing photograph does not necessarily identify the pressing. If the intention is to play it, confirm the format works with your equipment; if it is part of a collection, keep clear condition notes for both the record and sleeve.
Keep the useful details
Store the identifying information and follow the maker’s care instructions for the particular materials. When comparing an item, use clear photographs and a specific description of its condition. A familiar name alone does not establish the edition, provenance or suitability for your intended use.
